The Elle Foundation for African Youths Economic Self Reliance in Nigeria works mainly through Non Governmental Organizations and Community Based groups in Nigeria. Our strategy of working through partnerships is intended to build institutional capacity of groups, supporting innovation and ensuring that the funding provided meets the needs of the target beneficiaries and is culturally relevant.

In doing so, the Foundation encourages its grantees to forge collaborations and partnerships with local, state and national government agencies to enhance sustainability of the projects. The Foundation also seeks collaboration with other grant makers and international agencies working in its target areas. Where necessary, the Foundation will leverage additional funding from other sources to support partners’ initiatives.

Brief History

The Elle foundation is a non-profit, NGO working to improve knowledge, behaviors and skills for African youths. It is an organization that gives direction through their initiatives and programs, empowering youths to grow, learn and be the torchbearers for the future. It was founded by Chief Livinus Okechukwu, who was Inspired by his own life journey. The founder alongside his team has laid a strong foundation to eradicate poverty from African youths and hence bridge the gap between youths and the world.

As explained by the founder himself in his story, poverty and unemployment are inextricably linked, because majority of people living in poverty are majorly unemployed. Employment in all different forms is a key for breaking the cycle of poverty, it increases food security, it enhances the standard of living, enhances the economy and improves gender equality

The Elle Foundation for African Youths Economic Self Reliance in Nigeria is providing a platform that will engage in youth empowerment and job creation, educating the African youths at the grass root level, promote skill acquisition and capacity building among the youths to improve their standard of living, create awareness, contact and mobilize youth by promoting their carrier, enhance self reliance and human capacity development and enhance community development and growth in agriculture.
